Researchers Discover Mutated Genes Can Cause Deviant Feedback Loops Between Cancer Stem Cells and Surrounding Tissue

In this article, researchers have revealed a single mutated gene, HRas, can kick off an increasingly deviant feedback loop of miscommunication between the cancer stem cell and its surrounding tissue to fuel the development of a malignant tumour. This suggests that cancer stem cells can contribute to tumour progression by changing the interaction with its microenvironment.
